In this Public Program, conceptual Artist Susan C. Dessel shared the process of her discovery of the lives of the women buried in the extant 17th century Jewish cemetery in Manhattan (then Nieuw-Amsterdam) at Chatham Square in today's Chinatown and its sister cemeteries belonging to Congregation Shearith Israel (The Spanish-Portuguese Synagogue) and the work that resulted from her research "still lives" (exhibited Fall 2009, NYC).
